Hello, I'm BONNIE

Photographer & Creator

Hi, I’m Bonnie Sorensen. My love for photography began in 2nd grade when my teacher gave each child a disposable film camera for a photo contest. That first glimpse through the lens sparked a passion that’s stayed with me ever since. Over the years, photography has grown with me — from capturing my siblings’ weddings and documenting my own children’s early years, to learning the art of portraiture and photographing families and newborns for friends. What started as a small photography business has naturally evolved through each season of life. After stepping back to raise my children and earn a BS in Art and Design — where I deepened my skills through focused photography coursework — I’m now returning with a renewed focus on wedding photography, while still loving the opportunity to capture growing families and new beginnings along the way.

My Style & approach

My photography style is defined by three phrases: crystal clear, cleanly colorful, and authentic art.

Crystal Clear: I aim for the sharpest images possible, which is why I use top-tier Canon equipment.

Cleanly Colorful: I gravitate toward producing clean compositions full of rich, vibrant color.

Authentic Art: When it comes to editing, authenticity is key. I don’t over-retouch or alter people beyond recognition—I believe real beauty lies in who they are, not in unrealistic ideals. At the same time, I strive to produce artistic portraits, not merely snapshots. Every edit I make has a purpose. If something distracts from the subject—a photobomber, a stray hair, or a smudge—it may go. But if it adds to the story or subject, it stays.

Great photos start long before the shutter clicks. I spend days planning: scouting locations, sketching ideas, and prepping every detail for a smooth, efficient shoot. Still, I always leave space for spontaneity—because the most powerful moments are often the ones you can’t plan.
